lyrics
Within the heart of every man, woman and child exists a strand, a hint, a shadow of existence which has carried us through millennia upon millennia.
We, an animal that shifts its shape accordingly, are but spokes supporting a wheel. A dream, a vision. A man made construct which has its own momentum powered gravitas. Blind as a mole, powerful as an oxen, ruthless and caring as a wild dog.
DNA unravels over time, inch by inch, emptying a helical spool of imagery which fills our minds and history books with stories that separate and cement humanity from the everything. Not unlike a kite, life is held at the end of this golden strand, suspended at the material limitations of its construct. At the mercy of innovation to continue its suspension, its continued reinvention.
And the San within us, that infinite wisdom, lays dormant for some and active for others, invisible to all but to those whose eyes are open, brave and willing.
When I say ‘San’ this is simply a reference from the intellect, this ‘San’ could be one of a thousand names to represent the element which is as permanent as any igneous rock is to the greater forces of this world. But ‘San’ comes to me by itself, energetic and full of explanation. I am to it as it is to me, a ghost, seemingly disconnected but familiar, prospect of kinship if fear decides to reduce its delusional opacity.
